Quarter 1
Establishing a Positive and Productive Learning Environment! PE Content Standard 5: Students demonstrate and utilize knowledge of psychological and sociological concepts, principles, and strategies that apply to the learning and performance of physical activity. We spend the first quarter spending time getting to know one another and practicing social skills such as complimenting and encouraging one another. Team sport PE Content Standard 1: Demonstrate basic offensive and defensive skills and strategies in team physical activities. We focus on a team sport and study the offensive/defensive strategies then play them out. We have been working on our Team Sport skills with a focus on the specific offensive strategy of moving to an open space and passing to that open space. We played soccer and the non-traditional sport Speedball. Later we will explore Lacrosse. Volleyball Unit

Quarter 3
Dance and Tumbling PE Content Standard 1: Create and perform a routine using fundamental gymnastic/tumbling skills, locomotor and nonlocomotor movement patterns, and the elements of speed, direction, and level. Combine manipulative, locomotor, and nonlocomotor skills into movement patterns. (Rhythm and Dance)
Check out line dance performances from previous years on our Einstein Youtube channel. I have posted one below. Last year we learned a Folk Dance from the Philippines called Tinikling. This year we will be learning and performing jump rope routines to music. Quarter 4
Individual and Dual Sport PE Content Standard 1: Demonstrate body management and object-manipulation skills needed for successful participation in individual and dual physical activities. We learn, practice and play many different individual and dual sports such as Pickleball and Disc Golf. |
